Mise en Scene – development idea

hey

Mise en scene – development ideas This the mise en scene for our development ideas. This will allow us to look into detail of what we have planned for advert and why we think they work and be successful

Location – The location we have decided to used the studio at Halesowen college in Coombs-wood since we felt it was practical and we have a lot more availability. Also we feel it make the piece for easier to film and allows us to make the angles and shots more effective. We felt this would structure the piece well and even though it a simple location it would make the audience connect with the purpose of the video and not what actually the image

Set up/lightning/colour – The actual set up we were thinking would be most effective in this advert would be a black backdrop with the light off so it it pitch black with a lamp or white spotlight. We feel using just a spotlight would make the advert vey simple and different and more effective to allow us to show the meaning of girlhood and why it important. Also want to make this advert in colour and if we don’t used a lamp or spotlight we properly used natural light because it a nice alternative to lights and it more natural and effective.

Camera angle- The camera position we are thinking about using medium long shot and medium close up. This is because it a good camera angle to used or make the advert more effective and allow to get everything we want to represent in one shot.

Clothing/costumes- The clothing/costumes we thinking about using is more casual and more teen like because his advert is based for teens aged 14 and over. Using normal teen clothing would be effective because it gives a clear indication who is the target audience is and it effective to appeal and advert to the right audience type to makes the advert successful.

Constraints and how to deal with them

Problems – development ideas
When developing our ideas for this advert we were considering the problems we may faced when doing this advert.

One of the problems we may faced not being able to get the right lighting. This could be because that the weather too dark for natural light and we won’t be able to get the right spotlight or angle to make it effective.

Another problem we may faced is that the set up we used won’t be effective or too dark to film in. If this happens we have to think about using a different back drop or rethink of a brighter background that still effective.

These are some problems we may faced when filming. I will review this after we done filming and see if there any problems that we faced I never considered or if the problems we thought about never actually happen.

Amelia original ideas

Hey

I wanted to show you guys my original 3 ideas that i came up with before the decision to team up with my best friend Mikaela. I feel showing my three ideas will give you into a insight of what my first thoughts when i think of girlhood and i what i thought it meant to mean to me.

Before the initial ideas i decided to research into what Girlhood is so i had a better understanding of what i was aiming for.Girlhood is a charity based organisation that wants to help girls 11-24 to go for careers they want to do and allow to do anything the want to achieve in life.

My original ideas was very clichĂ© and very simple to the advert that girlhood already have shown such as : getting shots of women in mixed careers such as : Army, Marines, Chefs, Teachers, Lawyer, Builder, cleaner etc. This idea is very simple and even though target the cause well wasn’t much of an original idea. Another idea I thought of showing women in positive effects of their choices with a strong women voiceover. I thought this would be effective because it shows all the facts of the charity and used bright, bold colours. I felt this idea was good but want strong enough to show a purpose of why we were supporting this charity so I decided to team up with Mikaela and I felt our new and develop idea is more stronger and represent the charity more effctively.

Development of ideas for Girlhood

Hey …
we have developed our initial ideas for our advertisement on girlhood and we came up with 3 ideas that we feel fit the advertisement well. These ideas came round after a lot of research and looking into the purpose of what girlhood is and what we are suppose to achieve through this advert.photo-13-10-2016-4

Initial ideas 1

Our first initial idea is about opposites and parallels which we felt the main purpose of this advert is to show that it don’t matter if who you are we all equal. we have chosen this because we felt girlhood is trying to express that girls could do any job not mattering your appearance. The initial idea is going to show a different side to a person ( females in a male position ). The song we wanted to use for this advertisement if chosen is in progress at the minute since we pick a song out from the internet however music students are working with us to make a song also so haven’t decided on music , but the type of music we are looking for is more upbeat , very pop like and lyrics more girl related since this advert is based around girls. The picture below shows an example of what were thinking about creating for this advert. We were trying to show two different people with two completely different characteristics to show that women is equal and balanced. The top row represent a more tom boy lifestyle where the person itself dresses in jeans and trainers and more guy like tops such as plains or checks. This idea would be more colour scheme as light and dark and it more blues / greens. This idea shows different in interest and lifestyle since it would show a messy room and this person like reading / quietness. while the second row shows more of a typical girl who like makeup , dresses, heels and styling there hair etc. Also a tidier room compare to the first one and she loves her music and likes to play it loudly. The colour scheme used for this perspective will be more pinks and whites. We feel this advert might work well if we can show both side equally and related back to brief.

Initial ideas 2photo-13-10-2016-5

Our second idea is more a diversity piece where we wanted to show a different aspect for girlhood. This idea we wanted to focus more on women stereotypes that girls still what a women should be like and what type of jobs that women suppose to do compare to men. The whole purpose of this advert is show girls that we shouldn’t listen to stereotypes  because we can do anything a guy can do if we try hard and believe in our dreams. we wanted to incorporate voiceovers form different women and cut from to and from different rooms e.g. dark/light and used opposites shots to get our idea across. Each box in the picture above repersents a stereotype which women may faced when applying a macular job. In the first box the picture suppose to represent prettiness and how women may not get a certain job because they think about their appearance or looks. The second box is suppose to represent gentleness and how men think women to be soft and have soft hands so they couldn’t really do a rough hands-on job. The third box is suppose to represent size and women couldn’t do a certain job since there either too big or too thin this stereotype shows that women aren’t capable to a job since they always look at your size. The fourth box is more about jobs and how women get stereotype as home-cooking and stay at home mothers and it the men that suppose to manual work. The fifth box is represent cleaning and how women role is to clean and make sure everything tidy for when the men come home from work. Final box is to tie the purpose of the advert and what girlhood actually represent and show women all shaped / sizes with different careers and how it important to follow your dreams and passion no mattering who you are.

Initial idea 3photo-13-10-2016-6

Our initial idea is more about labels and how we shouldn’t judge people on the way they look and we should be more supportive. This idea is to show that girls can do any jobs  even if it girly or more a male role. This links about to girlhood because they want to courage girls to do anything job they want to do and this idea represent what some girls could face with their friends or in their social groups. The purpose of this advert is not to listen to negative people and be happy in any decision you make. in the first picture it shows three people on a wall either two guys and a girl or two girls and a guy ad they are generally chatting till the one guy asks what do everyone want to do as a career. The second box represent the girl saying she wants to be a builder and the boys saying she can’t do that job because she a girl and starts laughing and walks away. In the fourth box the girl sat on her own upset with her head in her hands thinking about the guys were right. The fifth and six box represent a quote ‘ Never let anyone put labels on you’ and the girl hood symbol. This is important because we want to put across in this advert that many people will be negative in your decisions of your life but you create your own label not listen to labels that people give you.

conclusion

In conclusion these are our 3 initial ideas for our girlhood project and this moment in time we are unsure which idea we are going to use but we feel all the ideas are strong and link to the brief well.
